Update (8/28): On the Friday before the awards show, we've got our opener: None other than Nicki Minaj will open the 2015 MTV VMAs. She's rumored to give the first TV performance of upcoming single "Trini Dem Girls" too.
The MC initially announced she'd be playing with a sonogram picture showing someone pregnant with a MTV Moonman inside on Instagram. Nick has since deleted the pic, but MTV's got it right here.
The performance comes hot off the heels after VMA host Miley Cyrus shared her thoughts with The New York Times about Nicki's outrageoutrage over her videos being snubbed at show, telling the paper, "What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite."
