CL Preps Debut English EP 'Lifted' for Fall
In her first official move since signing with Justin Bieber/Ariana Grande manager Scooter Braun and announcing plans to focus on the U.S. market, CL has prepped an upcoming EP that will serve as a teaser of her forthcoming album. The "Doctor Pepper" rapper/singer has been letting details about the EP trickle in piecemeal, but we now have a title and a few confirmed tracks.
In a new feature piece, Dazed reveals that the EP is titled Lifted and will be kicked off by a single titled "Hello Bitches" (how's that for an opening statement?). The K-pop star says the track began as an M.I.A. collaboration titled "Asian Bitches," but CL changed it, saying the theme was "too categorized...you can’t sing along with 'Asian Bitches,' you know?"
Dazed also revealed info about the epic-sounding track "Fallin," described as "moody electro-soul" cut that was produced by Blood Diamonds and DJ Dahi, written by "Bitch Better Have My Money" writer Bibi Bourelly, and sees CL shows off her her crooning skills. The title track is described as a rework of Wu-Tang Clan's "Method Man," as well.
