Drake's streak of amazing records in 2015 has been kind of unparalleled. Much of it's been for the existing Drake squad and for the general hip hop crowd. He's done a couple real grabs at pop hits, though: If You're Reading This It's Too Late's "Jungle," and, over the summer, "Hotline Bling," which is just too good.
Today Kehlani and Charlie Puth—both on our list of breakout artists to watch this fall—have delivered a piano-driven version of the song. Listen up top.
"Hotline Bling" welcomes interpretation, having itself come straight from D.R.A.M.'s "Cha Cha." It was a smart move for Kehlani and Charlie Puth to give the boppy track a totally new vibe.
The 20-year-old Kehlani dropped You Should Be Here, her second mixtape, back in April. This November, Charlie Puth—who lent assists on Wiz Khalifa's Furious 7 smash "See You Again" and Lil Wayne's "Nothing But Trouble"—drops his debut album, Nine Track Mind, in November.
