UPDATE: A press release has also announced that Adele's new single, "Hello," will be released on Friday (Oct. 23)!
Well, there you have it: Adele’s third studio album, perhaps the most anticipated music release of 2015, has an official release date.
25, the follow-up to 2011’s blockbuster 21, will be released on Nov. 20, Adele announced in an Instagram post on Thursday (Oct. 22). The Instagram photo—a striking close-up of the British singer’s face—may or may not double as the official artwork.
It’s been a busy week for the secretive superstar, who first previewed a new song in a commercial during the U.K. X Factor on Sunday, then shared a note to fans about the new album on Wednesday morning. "25 is about getting to know who I've become without realising,” she wrote. “And I'm sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened."
Adele’s third studio album has a lot to live up to, of course, as 21 scored three No. 1 singles, sold over 10 million copies and won the Grammy for album of the year. 25—which is rumored to feature contributions from Ryan Tedder, Max Martin and Tobias Jesso Jr., among others—will be released one week after Justin Bieber and One Direction’s Nov. 13 album release showdown.
Here is the tracklist to Adele's 25, which was confirmed via press release:
2. "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)"
3. "I Miss You"
4. "When We Were Young"
6. "Water Under The Bridge"
7. "River Lea"
8. "Love In The Dark"
9. "Million Years Ago"
10. "All I Ask"
11. "Sweetest Devotion"
