'Boycott Star Wars VII' Hashtag Trends with Claims That Movie is ‘Anti-White’
It’s an exciting day for Star Wars fans: a brand new trailer for Stars Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens will be released tonight, the official poster was just released, and hey, that Dec. 18 release date is now less than two months away! Leave it to racist Internet trolls to spoil the fun, though, as #BoycottStarWarsVII began trending worldwide on Twitter on Monday afternoon (Oct. 19).
It seems that the #Boycott hashtag was started by a small but vocal group of dummies who are angry that the upcoming installment features non-white actors in lead roles. An example tweet claims that the film is “anti-white propaganda promoting #whitegenocide.” We’d link to more examples, but let’s not give these lunatics the sweet, sweet web traffic they crave.
