Update: Billboard reports that a "source close to the singer" has denied the Nov. 6 rumored date. Still no official word from Rihanna's camp.
Rihanna’s next album already has a title and cover artwork. Does it now have a release date as well?
According to a new post from Hits Daily Double, Rihanna’s highly anticipated ANTI album will be released on Nov. 6, one week ahead of next month’s much-ballyhooed showdown between Justin Bieber’s Purpose and One Direction’s Made In The A.M. albums. The Roc Nation album received its title and evocative cover artwork during an event in Los Angeles last week.
A rep for Rihanna did not immediately respond to Fuse’s request for confirmation, although the rumored date makes sense: Rihanna’s follow-up to 2012’s Unapologetic has been preceded by multiple new interviews, including a New York Times chat with Miranda July earlier this week, as well as singles like “Bitch Better Have My Money” and “American Oxygen.”
Rihanna’s last four albums have been released in November, although Unapologetic, which included the hits "Diamonds" and "Stay," was the first to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in 2012.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Rihanna and the Weekend will perform at this year’s Victorias Secret Fashion Show, which will air on Dec. 8 on CBS. Rihanna performed at the Grammys, the iHeartRadio Music Awards and on Saturday Night Live earlier this year.
