Ariana Grande took the American Music Awards stage to perform ‘Focus,’ her brand new single, in stunning fashion on Sunday night (Nov. 22). The television debut of the new hit was given the full-band treatment, and Grande delivered the awe-inspiring vocals.
After beginning the performance with a slowed-down solo take on the new single (and struggling to find the break in the curtain, but hey, that happens), Grande dropped back to reveal a full brass setup and crew of backup dancers. The big-budget stage show was reminiscent of Grande's eye-popping "Focus" music video, which debuted along with the song last month.
After scoring five Top 20 hits from her My Everything album, Ariana Grande is nominated for artist of the year at this year’s AMAs, held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. "Focus" previews Grande's third studio set, Moonlight, due out in 2016.
