Atlanta’s WGCL-TV is reporting that local hero 2 Chainz just gave a huge holiday surprise to disabled veteran and single mother Diedre Plater. Showing up and Plater and her son’s apartment, Tity Boi “provided bedroom furniture, sofas, as well as agreed to pay her rent for an entire year." (And yeah, there's a video.)
The gift comes through 2 Chainz’s TRU Foundation. "We are dedicated to promoting balanced, respectful and enriched relationships and aim to create life changing moments and help build a positive outcome for our young generation," reads the nonprofit’s mission statement.
"It's hard to keep gas in the car, food in the house, and do everything by myself being a single parent,” Plater told WGCL-TV. “I am on a fixed income. … I love to see stuff like this happen for other people, but I never thought it would happen to me.”
2 Chainz is currently selling a line of “ugly Christmas sweaters” featuring Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus dabbing. There're also items featuring pretend chains, cannabis leaves and a Star of David. You’ve got mugs and baby onesies with the same patterns, too. A portion of the proceeds are going toward the TRU Foundation this season; the money helped contribute to the Plater family’s surprise. We knew there was a reason we put that baby onesie on our 2015 holiday gift guide.
