Here’s a good way to get people excited for your awards show: announce music’s biggest superstar as your first confirmed performer! Adele will be playing the 2016 BRIT Awards, it was announced on Thursday (Dec. 17).
The annual U.K. music extravaganza will be held on Feb. 24, 2016, at the O2 in London. That’s one week after the 2016 GRAMMY Awards, and eight years after Adele won the first Critics’ Choice Award at the BRITs in 2008.
Perhaps Adele will perform “When We Were Young,” which was confirmed to be the second official single from her massive-selling 25 earlier this week? Or maybe she’ll stick with “Hello,” which logs its seventh week atop the Hot 100 chart in the U.S. this week.
Adele’s live performance at New York’s Radio City Music Hall aired on NBC earlier this week and was a stunner; click here to watch it in full.
