English rock statesmen and former rivals Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher jammed out on Sunday in honor of the Clash bassist Paul Simonon’s 60th birthday. The set also featured the Pretenders’ frontwoman Chrissie Hynde; the team worked through cuts by the Gorillaz, the Clash and the Good, the Bad & the Queen.

The Gorillaz have new music coming in 2016, their first since 2012's "DoYaThing" single. "I’m very excited,” said Jamie Hewlett in October. “I don’t want to say too much about it, but I’m at that phase of experimentation.” Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds dropped a sophomore album, Chasing Yesterday, in February.
