Deadmau5 is one of the music community's most notorious tweeters, trolling EDM rivals (Skrillex), alternative rock bands (Arcade Fire) and pop superstars (Justin Bieber) alike. But the producer has decided to start fresh on social media, rebooting his Twitter account, Billboard reports.

However, in a frank Tumblr post, he emphasizes that the clean slate isn't connected to his high-profile beefs: "Deactivating social media for a minute has nothing at all to do with popstars or dubstep tryhards," he says. "It was a kneejerk reaction to something i saw coming a long time ago. Also, nobodies [sic] business but my own."

Deadmau5 also apologizes to his fans for "being a dick," "fucking off so abruptly, and leaving them out of the loop in terms of developments in my career and some small glimpes [sic] into my personal life."

Billboard reports that the musician lost his 3.2 million followers and quickly jumped back to over 1 million with the reboot, but his Twitter shows 3.33 million as of this writing.

In July, Deadmau5 tweeted his plan to enter "winter hibernation" in order to craft his follow-up to 2014 LP While (1<2), and hopefully finish an album by January, according to NME.
