Miley Cyrus Previews "Sad Christmas Song"—Is an EP or Album on the Way?

Over on Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne's Instagram, a holiday treat awaits. It's a preview of a little ditty called "Sad Christmas Song," and it's sung by the incomparable Miley Ray Cyrus.

The melancholy preview's to-the-point, with a warm acoustic strum from a guitarist topped by Miley's refrain, sung just once: “This is my sad Christmas song / I’ve had it in my head all day long.”

Coyne hashtagged the post #sadchristmassongs, plural, which he's done twice in non-preview posts since. Is there a release on the way, Ariana Grande/Christmas and Chill EP style? Miley's put out no shortage of music this year—the Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz album has 23 songs!—so anything could happen. She already got into the Christmas spirit on Netflix's A Very Murray Christmas, too, dueting with Bill Murray on classics like "Silent Night," "Sleigh Ride" and "Let It Snow."
