Sleater-Kinney didn’t just reunite to drop one of the 20 best albums of 2015—they also did it to hit the road and give crowds everywhere the time of their lives. On Sunday (Dec. 13), they took it all the way to the limit at New York City’s Terminal 5, performing the B-52's “Rock Lobster"—the seven-minute version that showed up on their 1979 debut.
They did it with Carrie Brownstein’s Portlandia co-star Fred Armisen. And yeah, Carrie kicks the shit out of that riff.
Armisen played tambourine and sang lead; Corin Tucker shook a tambourine and provided those supernatural B-52's backing vox. At the two-and-a-half-minute mark they all flop down on the floor and wiggle around. Then they do it again two minutes later.
