Last summer, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley confirmed that the group was working on its sixth studio album, and the first since his scary brush with alcoholism. That album is likely coming in 2016, but over the weekend, the group shared a pair of song snippets to entice longtime fans.
The demos (one is captioned "Just a rough mix," the other is "Unfinished") hint at a particularly kinetic LP from the guys, whose last album was 2011's Screaming Bloody Murder. A PledgeMusic page for the new album, including pre-order details, launched earlier this year.
"Words can’t describe how good it feels to be back, so I’ll just let the music do that instead," Whibley wrote in July. "It’s been a crazy few years for all of us in one way or another, but with this much needed break and a new lease on life Sum 41 is back and stronger and more excited than we have been in a long time. It’s time to make a fucking great record!"
