Actress Janet Hubert, best known as the original Aunt Vivian on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has posted a scathing video blog aimed at the Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith.
Hubert begins by attacking Jada Pinkett Smith's call to boycott the upcoming Oscars ceremony due to the lack of diversity represented in the acting categories. To Hubert, this is a cheap move motivated by Jada and Will not receiving acting nominations this year.
"You ain't Barack and Michelle Obama, and y'all need to get over yourselves," says Hubert. "You have a huge production company that you only produce your friends and your family and yourself. So you are a part of Hollywood. You are a part of the system that is unfair to other actors. So get real."
Hubert also goes after her former Fresh Prince co-star for declining to help the rest of the sitcom cast negotiate its contracts as a collective, and also dismisses his starring role in Concussion. "Karma must be a bitch," Hubert says.
Smith has been nominated for two Oscars but has yet to win; meanwhile, some were calling for a nominated for Jada Pinkett Smith for her supporting turn in Magic Mike XXL. Click here for more people of color worthy of Oscar noms this year.
