Chris Brown is denying a woman’s claim that he punched her in a Las Vegas hotel room over the weekend, calling the allegation of battery a fabrication.

On Saturday morning (Jan. 2). police responded to a report of battery within the Palms Casino Resort, according to a statement issued to The Hollywood Reporter. The victim, later identified as Liziane Gutierrez, alleged that she was attending a party inside a hotel room at the Palms when she took out her cell phone to take a photo of Brown, who responded by battering her and taking her cell phone. The victim reportedly sustained minor injuries from the altercation.

A representative for Brown called the victim’s claims “unequivocally untrue” when the news broke, while Brown himself posted a video response to the allegation, says that Gutierrez was "probably too ugly to get in" to the party.

Meanwhile, Brown’s manager, Mike G., posted an Instagram about the incident:

A crime report has been taken for misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor theft, and the investigation is ongoing. Brown, who performed at Drai’s Beach and Nightclub over the New Year’s weekend, may be filing a defamation lawsuit against Gutierrez this week.
