Remember where you were when news broke that the Friends cast was reuniting for an NBC special? It seems like only yesterday. Because it was! Sadly, our hopes have already been (sort of) dashed, because it looks pretty clear that all six Friends won’t be appearing together.

That’s because Matthew Perry is rehearsing for a London play, The End of Longing, when the special is taping on Jan. 24. According to EW, NBC is confident that Perry will still contribute to the special, even if he definitely won’t be in the same room as the others.

There’s no word on whether the other five actors — David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc — are definitely in for the reunion. The special, set to air on NBC on Feb. 21, is dedicated to the comedy director James Burrows.
