Salem's getting a real-life warlock this year. The WGN America series will add Marilyn Manson in a guest role in Season 3, which will kick off in April.
Entertainment Weekly writes that he'll play "A barber and surgeon named Thomas Dinley, who is versed in both giving haircuts as well as applying leeches and performing rudimentary surgeries." That's just a handy double skillset to have in the 1600s.
When the show premiered in 2014, it boasted a theme song, “Cupid Carries a Gun,” that Manson wrote with Tyler Bates. (It later appeared on Manson's 2015 album The Pale Emperor.) "The occult and witchcraft is so often used in cinema with a heinous disregard for even researching its origins," the "Beautiful People" singer said at the time. "I liked the themes of Salem. It looks at the witch trials without being cliché like most modern films."
