Black Flag's former bassist is now an Oscar winner.
Kira Roessler, who played with the punk legends in the early-to-mid '80s, was one of the winners at the 88th annual Academy Awards on Sunday night (Feb. 28) for her work on Mad Max: Fury Road. Roessler worked as a supervising dialogue editor on the project, which won Best Sound Editing, along with five other trophies.
Following stints in Black Flag and Dos, Roessler began working as a dialogue editor in the '90s, earning an Emmy for her work on HBO's John Adams miniseries. Her other film credits include Twilight: New Moon, Under The Tuscan Sun and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
