The Killers haven't dropped an album in almost four years, but the next one could be coming soon...ish. "In a perfect world I think the end of 2016 maybe, there’ll be something," frontman Brandon Flowers told NME a couple months ago. He released his second solo album, The Desired Effect, in 2015.
Now we've got word that Elton John, hot off his 32nd studio album, Wonderful Crazy Night, is in on the process. "I'm hoping to go to Vegas and write with Brandon for the new Killers record, I'm leaving today," the 68-year-old singer told Shazam. "So that will be interesting." The two chatted on Elton's Beats 1 show last fall, revealing that they frequently preview their work for each other.
In that same 2015 NME interview, Flowers laid out the issue with the new record: "You get a lot of bands that don’t do great things later on, and so hopefully because I’m aware of that we can really do something better and something great this time.” Earlier in the year, he said his group could easily be the best band of the last 15 years.
