Here's a really strange story: According to MetalSucks (via The Olive Press), Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden frontman, is a hero. Now, you're probably thinking, "Of course he's a hero, haven't you heard his voice, also he can fly planes?!?," and you wouldn't be wrong. But today, he's a real hero in the local-news sort of way.

An endangered loggerhead turtle from the Canary Islands washed up on a beach in Hoboken, N.J., wounded, with an infection and cracked shell. After a crowdfunding campaign raised €8,000 to rescue the reptile, Dickinson flew it home.

You can see pics from the event here. This is pretty insane but it kind of makes us want to listen to Iron Maiden now? Mission accomplished!
