Yoko Ono was taken to New York’s Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital last night (Feb. 26). Early reports suggested that Ono was found unconscious after having a stroke; however, Ono’s representative Elliott Mintz informed the Associated Press that the stroke rumors were untrue.
Mintz told Billboard that Ono was weathering “flu-like symptoms.”
Sean Lennon, her son with John Lennon, confirmed on Twitter that she did not experience a stroke. He tweeted, “Hey guys it was only rumors from press: was NOT a stroke, just dehydration/tired. She is FINE. Thank you everyone for your concern.”
Ono, 83, was taken to the same hospital as her husband John Lennon was after he was shot by Mark David Chapman in 1980.
