Chad Smith and Will Ferrell are back at it again! The Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer and comedian/actor have announced the Red Hot Benefit Comedy + Music Show & Quinceanera. Yes, a quinceañera! Smith, who is the charity event's music creator, and his bandmates are the first confirmed performers.
Ferrell and his Funny or Die crew will be rounding up fellow comedians to perform at the festivities. The proceeds will go towards the actor's Cancer For College charity, while Smith supports the Silverlake Conservatory of Music (founded by RHCP's Flea).
Ferrell shared this in a statement:
“I have only one great regret in life and it’s that I never actually celebrated my quinceanera. I’d like to think it was just a simple oversight by my mother, but there has been a void inside me for many years. Growing up on the mean streets of Irvine, California, I have vivid memories of all my friends celebrating their quinceanera. Well, on April 29th at the Shrine Auditorium, with Red Hot Chili Peppers and a bunch of other really talented comedians and musicians by my side, we are going to right that wrong, and everyone is invited.”
This marks the second time the lookalike pair will join forces—in May 2014 they participated in a drum-off on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Red Hot Benefit Comedy + Music Show & Quinceanera will take place on April 29 at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.
