"Hey, look, it comes with the territory. We gotta keep it moving," she told X17 Online at LAX on Saturday. "We got a lot of stuff we gotta handle, a lot of stuff going on in our world right now. We gotta keep it moving." See the conversation in the video up top.
Rock opened the Feb. 28 show by calling out Hollywood's famous family:
“Jada says she's not coming. Protesting. I'm like, ‘Ain't she on a TV show?’ Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties. I wasn't invited! Oh, that's not an invitation I would turn down! [She] said, ‘It's not fair that Will was this good [in Concussion] and didn't get nominated!’ You're right! It's also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild Wild West! Okay?”
Jada announced she was boycotting the Oscars in January, days after the nominations were revealed. "At the Oscars," she says in the video below, "people of color are always welcomed to give out awards, even entertain, but we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments."
Will was quick to back her up, telling Good Morning America, "For me, at its best, Hollywood represents and then creates the imagery for that beauty. When I look at the series of nominations of the Academy, it's not reflecting that beauty.”
