Slayer is back with a new music video, and it's safe to say the band is living up to its name. Their video for "You Against You" is a gruesome, unholy, blood-ridden slaughterfest and also one of the top five fight sequences you'll see this year.
After setting up some drama at an isolated bar in the middle of cowboy country, which serves as a callback to their video for "Repentless," the video basically turns into a six-minute hybrid between the Jason Bourne pen-fight sequence and any randomly selected half hour from The Raid: Redemption. The short film is only interrupted sparingly by sequences of the band playing in front of the smoking rubble of a 747.
If director BJ McDonnell ever dreamed of working with Robert Rodriguez, this short film is a pretty amazing proof of concept. There's everything you could want in a brutal action movie: gunshots through the eyes, baseball bats to the gut and one very disturbing stab in the groin.
