Sound the alarm: Kendrick Lamar just surprise-released a new album—eight songs, 34-minutes—across streaming platforms. Buy untitled unmastered. on iTunes and you can stream it here:

Earlier Thursday night, Spotify uploaded a brand new, previously secret Lamar record called untitled unmastered. The mobile app promised a March 4 release date. Tidal also teased the release on Twitter:

Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Tiffith teased a new Kendrick album for 2016 earlier this week. This new Instagram promises that Kendrick "returns 2nite."

The rather opaque album title has a correspondingly opaque track list: All eight songs have titles like "untitled 01 8.19.2014" and "untitled 05.09.2014," just like recordings that are both untitled and unmastered. Pretty punny, no?

Although the news is striking (and exciting!), Lamar's follow-up to To Pimp a Butterfly may have been expected by a few: On Tuesday, Top Dog Entertainment boss Anthony Tiffith told the world in an Instagram post that his label would be releasing something big this week.

It's logical to assume that this might be that something.
