Phife Dawg Memorial Held in Queens Park

A Tribe Called Quest have shared details on a memorial event for the late founding member Phife Dawg. 

“The Celebration of Phife” will take place in St. Albans Park in Queens, New York, on Monday April 4. Starting at 10:30 a.m., the organizers for the event revealed on the Smokin’ Needles website that “the first 200 fans to arrive will receive something very special!”

A number of artists and musicians within the rap community have paid tribute to Phife. Q-Tip dedicated a broadcast of his Beats 1 radio show to the co-founder. Everyone from PharrellKendrick Lamar, and Big Boi have commented on Phife’s legacy. 

Additionally, there are even petitions in the works to have St. Albans park and a street block in Queens renamed after Phife Dawg.
