Action Bronson Issues Apology After Being Removed From GWU Concert
George Washington University announced on Thursday (Mar. 31) they will be removing Action Bronson from their "Spring Fling" concert, after students called out the rapper's misogynistic themes in 2011 track "Consensual Rape." They also claimed he has "a history of public transphobia." The artist has since issued an open letter on Facebook apologizing for his past lyrics.
"I can’t continue to walk around with the thought that people are thinking these things about me that are far from who I really am," Bronson says in the statement. He continued to address "Consensual Rape," explaining it was meant to depict a story and that he's never performed it live.
