Meet the new Baywatch, same as the old Baywatch, pretty much. Back in March, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson—the remake's star—let the world know that David Hasselhoff was on board. (Despite the fact that Johnson's playing the Hoff's original character, Mitch Buchannon.)
Now another veteran of the '90s series, Pamela Anderson, is in, too. Johnson Instagrammed a photo of the two of them, above, captioned:
"She introduced the world to 'CJ Parker' and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation - for the most successful TV show of all time. A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #BAYWATCH cast. We couldn't have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us! "#BAYWATCH MAY 19, 2017. #PamAnderson #OS #OriginalSmokestack"
Anderson's previous word was, “I haven’t turned it down completely yet, but I have turned down what they offered me." From 1992 to '97, she appeared in 110 episodes of the show. (Hasselhoff did 220.)
Also appearing in the new Baywatch are Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra, Hannibal Buress and Alexandra Daddario. The Hollywood Reporter's initial description said the plot details "a by-the-book and very serious lifeguard [Johnson] who is forced to team up with a young rule-flouting hothead [Efron] in order to save their beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon."
Baywatch is out May 19, 2017.
