Bill Withers Sues Kendrick Lamar Over Song From 2009

Bill Withers' copyright holders have a bone to pick.

Kendrick Lamar has been sued for allegedly copying the singer's 1975 song "Don’t You Want to Stay." A lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles federal court, claims that Lamar's "I Do This" directly references the track, according to The Guardian. "I Do This" originated on 2009's Kendrick Lamar EP and showed up on 2010's Overly Dedicated, which is on Spotify despite being a mixtape.
