Fleet Foxes are "definitely" coming back, according to vocalist/guitarist Christian Wargo.
“It’s not, like, ‘announced’ or anything, and none of us really knew it was coming, but it’s happening,” Wargo told Distinct in a feature about his art. “Possibly unofficially at this stage, but it’s definitely a thing.”
The little tidbit was hidden away in a story about his woodwork and illustrations, but it's being pulled out into a bigger story. Fleet Floxes went their separate ways after the 2011 album Helplessness Blues, with not much was said about when they'd rejoin. So, for fans, it's big news.
Frontman Robin Pecknold has been opening for Joanna Newsom, and it was at one of her concerts where he and Wargo discussed a reunion. Pecknold has been in multiple musical projects since Helplessness Blues, including an off-broadway play, playing with Grizzly Bear's Daniel Rossen and guesting on a Walkmen album.
