Gallant made the most of a prime slot on Friday afternoon (Apr. 15) at Coachella, as the rising R&B star brought out Seal for a special duet of the latter's 1990 hit "Crazy" and the former's biggest hit to date.
Telling the crowd that he "normally doesn't do" covers during his live show, Gallant started warbling "Crazy" solo before Seal swaggered out midway through the performance. What resulted was a hypnotic display of dueling vocal power, with Gallant's signature falsetto giving way to Seal's booming voice.
"It's an honor to be here with such a talented young man," Seal told the crowd after the song ended. "I love that he's paving the way, and I love that he's the future."
Then, Seal kicked off a performance of Gallant's breakout hit, "Weight in Gold," as Gallant danced around, then took over after the first verse. The crowd erupted at the second collaboration, and Seal looked delighted at the warm Coachella reception.
Gallant's debut album, Ology, was released earlier this month (and was one of our most anticipated albums of 2016 before that).
