Green Day & Jawbreaker Members Team Up For California Debut Album

Late last year, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong set out to destroy pop-punk, the very genre his band is responsible for championing. His band is currently in the studio, working on new material, and it's unsure if he'll accomplish this bummer of a goal.

Apparently no one gave the anti-pop-punk memo to longtime GD touring guitarist Jason White, who, alongside Jawbreaker co-founder/drummer Adam Pfahler have started a new band in that vein. They're called California (literally, what is more pop-punk than naming your band after the Golden State?)

The duo have released their debut self-titled LP, which you can stream it via Bandcamp above.

It's a pretty solid record, one we think might have Armstrong rethinking his position. In the meantime, take our quiz: How Pop-Punk Are You?
