Coachella was gifted a rare and unannounced N.W.A performance on Saturday night (April 23), that saw Dr. Dre team with old companions Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella for some vaunted hits from decades past. The reunion was the first time all surviving members of the group performed on stage together in 27 years, but might spark the ire of fans who caught the MCs' partial reunion at last weekend's Coachella, wherein N.W.A, performed without Dr. Dre.
Watch the group introduce Dr. Dre's arrival, and tear through a rendition of "Still D.R.E." above.
N.W.A zipped through many '90's west coast gangster rap hits during their set, and played "California Love," with Ice Cube standing in for Tupac.
The set also saw Ice Cube join with Kendrick Lamar for a performance of the latter MC's song "Alright."
Earlier this month, N.W.A was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by none other than Kendrick Lamar. For more Coachella tidbits from Fuse, check out some of the best things we saw during the festival's first weekend.
