The singer-songwriter Andrew Watt, who was previously part of hard rock band California Breed, posted a heartfelt tribute to Prince on his Instagram. In his homage to The Purple One, Watt called him “the last of the greatest living performers…my guitar idol.” He went on to say Prince's "connection to ALL his instruments yielded a sexual transcending aura and the world is just less fucking cool without him walking on it." This was the photo:
Justin then responded to the photo with a comment that said, “Well not the last greatest living performer.” The comment, which has since been deleted, outraged not only Prince fans but Bieber’s own fans as well. It remains unclear whether the comment was meant to be antagonistically puerile or if it's entirely fabricated; Bieber has not given any other statement regarding Prince's death.
Investigation into Prince’s death is still ongoing. He was found on his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota. He was only 57 years old.
