Prince took an unexpected detour from his Piano & A Microphone Tour briefly following his performance in Atlanta last night, as his plane made an emergency landing before reaching his intended destination.
According to TMZ, Prince—who played not one, but two sets at Atlanta's Fox Theatre the evening of April 14—boarded his jet following the concert, and the plane landed in Illinois around 1 a.m. Prince was then rushed to the hospital, treated, and released three hours later.
A representative from Prince's camp said that the rocker has been battling the flu—he had canceled two April 7 performances—but wanted to move forward with the Atlanta engagement in spite of his illness.
The show must go on, even if it involves a trip to the emergency room. So fans, breathe a sigh of relief: The Purple One is reportedly on the mend. Or better than on the mend, apparently:
