El-P and Killer Mike opened their Rolodexes for Run The Jewels' second straight year at Coachella, getting introduced by Bernie Sanders and bringing out Nas (among many other special guests) on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 16).
Sanders kicked off the main stage performance by introducing the pro-Bernie duo via video message. Throughout the performance, Killer Mike and El-P showed love to the presidential candidate, saying he was "gracious" enough to record the intro when they asked.
Later, Nas came out to rap his radio smash "Made You Look," which matched the incredible energy of RTJ tracks like "Oh My Darling, Don't Cry" and "Blockbuster Night Pt. 1." Nas called Run The Jewels "my favorite group" before leaving the stage.
The MC was just one of many onstage cameos, as DJ Shadow, Despot, Gangsta Boo and Boots all made appearances as well. Gary Clark Jr., who played the main stage before Run The Jewels, popped out again to noodle on guitar during the finale.
The duo teased the release of Run The Jewels 3 onstage but didn't offer a release date. The critically acclaimed Run The Jewels 2 was released in 2014.
