Calvin Harris was involved in a car crash on Friday night (May 20) that landed the DJ/producer in the emergency room with some apparently minor injuries. We say "apparent," because it seems that Harris split from the hospital shortly following the ordeal.
TMZ reports that Harris was taken via ambulance to the hospital following the accident, which occurred after another vehicle crashed into the SUV he was in. In their report—which describes the accident as a gruesome scene that involved the ejection of a passenger from the other vehicle—they note that Harris didn't stay at the hospital because a private room wasn't available, and that his early departure was against medical advice.
Harris was due to perform at Las Vegas' Omnia, where he currently has a Friday night residency, but posted on Facebook that last night's gig had been canceled following the "collision" and that doctors had told him "to rest for a few days." So, there you go: Harris is okay, the docs have seen him, and he's on the mend with the counsel of medical professionals in tow.
This could be a potential bummer for fans who were looking forward to seeing his headlining set at Hangout Fest in Alabama later today. No word yet on whether or not his set is officially canceled, but we'll update here accordingly.
