Justin Timberlake's new song "Can't Stop the Feeling" took over America almost immediately, de-throning Drake's Hot 100 chart-topper "One Dance" after just one week in the spot. So it's only right that the music video, premiering via Ellen, is a big fat love letter to America.
"Can't Stop the Feeling" has a Baskin-Robbins–sized menu of Norman Rockwell–y notes—diners, donuts, a barber shop, an auto shop, a flower shop, a beach ball—and metric tons more: hotel pools, old-fella dancing, grocery store jaunts through the frozen food and cereal aisles, one of those giant inflatable party-in-the-wind dudes Ilana on Broad City loves.
And it's all set to dance-like-nobody's-watching improv-choreography. The Mark Romanek–directed "Can't Stop the Feeling" video is so certifiably joyful that we won't even strike a blow at the part where an electronics store showcases scenes from the Trolls movie this song's tied to. (Speaking of which: Did you see the clip of JT and his Trolls co-star Anna Kendrick going crazy to the song?)
Timberlake recently assured the world he also has a new, possibly country-tinged album in the works. “I’m not going to be shy about saying that working on this soundtrack has bled into working on some other stuff for myself," he told Carson Daly on his 97.1 AMP Radio show.
