Lupita Nyong'o in Talks to Star in Marvel's 'Black Panther'

That Marvel Studios reign just won't let up! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lupita Nyong'o is currently in negotiations to star in Black Panther. The Kenyan actress would play the love interest of Chadwick Boseman, who starred as T'Challa/Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War.

Ryan Coogler, the director and screenwriter behind Creed, has hopped on the project as well. The Black Panther film (like many others from the Marvel camp) is bound to make box office gold: Captain America: Civil War has already grossed over $700 million worldwide.

Black Panther is set to be released Feb. 2, 2018 and production will begin next year. T'Challa has been a fan favorite lately, and his alter-ego even sparked a Marvel video series. Nyong'o isn't doing too shabby herself! She recently had roles in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Jungle Book, although both were voice-acting gigs.
