We knew the Power Rangers were on their way back, but it turns out they're actually on their way back and back and back and back and back, etc. “We are really, really excited about the Power Rangers movie,” Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told analysts on a Thursday conference call, Variety reports. “We could see doing five or six or seven.”

If that sounds shocking, you haven't been paying attention. Marvel's got movies planned through at least 2028, with hard info available on the next nine. Transformers 5, 6 and 7 are coming annually starting in 2017. The Fast & Furious franchise also has dates in place for 8, 9 and 10.

What's new here is the fact that the Power Rangers cinematic reboot is still almost a year away, and we're already talking about making it a Harry Potter–sized series.

It hasn't been long since we got a glimpse at Elizabeth Banks as villainess Rita Repulsa, followed by a glossy shot of the new Power Rangers suits, made of "translucent extraterrestrial armor that crystallizes around their bodies." Now, just in time for the "we're making 100 billion of these things!" news, there's a leaked set photo featuring the Red Ranger on set (and more here):

Power Rangers doesn't hit theaters till March 24, 2017, so you've got plenty of time to kick it with these PAX East cosplayers:
