Nashville, the country music drama starring Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton, has been cancelled by ABC, per Entertainment Weekly.
The series lasted four seasons on ABC after premiering in October 2012. Along with Panettiere and Britton as country music stars, the series also starred Juliette Barnes, Jonathan Jackson and Sam Palladio and Powers Boothe.
The cancellation comes as a surprise move from ABC. Britton was nominated for an Emmy for the show in 2013, while T-Bone Burnett, married to series creator Callie Khouri, was the executive music producer during its first season.
Nashville also produced 10 charting soundtracks in the United States, all released on Big Machine Records. A season four compilation was released last December.
