Oscar Isaac is on the cover of the new Rolling Stone, and you know he's got some Star Wars scoop for us. First off, it sounds like he'll definitely make it to Episode IX. "It's the first time in my life when things have been mapped out for quite some time," he tells the magazine. "I'm basically Star War-ring until 2020."

Elsewhere, he adds to the theory/hope that Episode VIII will function as the Empire Strikes Back of the new trilogy. "It's the dark second chapter, but not really dark," he says. His co-star John Boyega recently told Variety that incoming writer/director Rian Johnson (Looper) has "a different take, darker, bigger."

Isaac confirmed the "bigger" part, as well, telling RS:

"In the new film, there's a lot more to do. What happens now is the heroes get tested. All three of them [Poe, Daisy Ridley's Rey, Boyega's Finn] get tested immensely. ... BB-8 gets tested too! Everybody gets tested!"

Star Wars: Episode VIII isn't out till Dec. 15, 2017, but Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is coming in a mere seven months, on Dec. 16, 2016. While you anxiously chew your nails, read the 33 things we're sure you can expect from the big VIII.
