It's the end of a very rewarding era for Sara Ramirez, who has officially said goodbye to her Dr. Calliope "Callie" Iphegenia Torres character on Grey's Anatomy. The actress announced after the medical drama's Season 12 finale last night (May 19) that it will be the last time she'll walk through Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes (the woman also behind ABC favorites Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder) and Ramirez paid tribute to her departure, as she will be taking time off from acting.

While Ramirez wasn't a part of the original Grey's cast (she joined in 2006, during Season 2), she brought complexity, a strong will and a fierce personality to the show. She was also praised by GLAAD and and LGBT website AfterEllen for her portrayal of a bisexual character.

To honor of Dr. Torres' awesomeness, we put together ten of her most badass and unforgettable moments on Grey's Anatomy!

Experimental procedures are always risky, but when faced with skepticism and criticism, Callie would rather you shut up and let "The Dream Team" do its job.
