Earlier in May, Soulja Boy tweeted having a $400 million deal confirmed. On Friday, World Poker Fund Holdings (WPFH) and the 25-year-old rapper announced their five-year contract officially. The company plans to promote their online services through Soulja Boy’s social media accounts, which contain over 15 million followers.
WPFH is a leading developer and operator of online gaming. The company is looking to market themselves based on individual influencers. According to the press release:
"Soulja Boy will mobilize his network to promote World Poker Fund’s online gaming assets such as CelebrityWorld.com and its soon-to-launch 'in-flight gaming' platform which aims to service the 3 billion plus global travelers across multiple airlines worldwide."
The deal is one of the largest a rapper has ever made, not to mention that Soulja Boy is only 25. “I invest in things I understand. I enjoy music, and of course gaming. Being an influencer is a form of currency,” says Soulja Boy.
It doesn’t look like Soulja Boy plans to stop here. In a recent tweet, he called out T-Mobile and Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group, regarding a possible idea (see below). We can’t wait to see what new venture Soulja Boy gets into next.
