'Suicide Squad's' Harley Quinn is Getting Her Own Movie (Sort Of)

With Suicide Squad coming this summer and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn already seeming to be a breakout star, the stage would seem to be set for a Quinn solo film, correct? Correct… sort of!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Harley Quinn spin-off is in the works at Warner Bros., but it wouldn’t be a solo movie. Instead, the project would focus on the DC universe’s “female heroes and villains,” including (perhaps) Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Katana (also of the Suicide Squad) and more.

Warner Bros. isn’t commenting, but a script is apparently in the works from an unnamed female writer. Robbie would reprise the character of Quinn in the project, and is leading the project as a producer.

Suicide Squad is due out on Aug. 5. Watch the latest trailer below:
