On Tuesday night, Beyoncé dedicated “Halo,” the closing song each night of the Formation world tour, to the families of the victims of this weekend’s mass shooting at Orlando’s gay nightclub, Pulse.
“This next song is about love,” Bey told the crowd at Detroit's Ford Field, “and I’d like to dedicate it to all the family members of those who lost their lives in Florida.”
Beyoncé is the latest music star to honor the Orlando victims onstage: Adele teared up while performing a tribute to those who lost their lives in the nightclub, while several artists on the final day of Bonnaroo recognized the horrific attack. Lady Gaga, Bey’s “Telephone” collaborator, read the names of all of the victims in a tearful speech.
