Who will be the main villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2? The question has buried itself inside the brains of Marvel fans ever since the 2014 original hinted at an expanded universe. A new Internet rumor is floating around that the evildoer has been decided upon, and that the antagonist will be female.

According to IGN, reports are pointing to Elizabeth Debicki as the villain of Vol. 2ComicBookMovie reported in March that Debicki (The Man From U.N.C.L.E., The Night Manager) would be playing Ayesha in the 2017 film.

Ayesha is an artificial “super being” created by the Enclave and who goes by names such as Kismet and Paragon. Although Debicki has officially been confirmed for the sequel, her role has yet to be specified.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is due out on May 5, 2017. Star-Lord has a good shot of showing up in Avengers: Infinity War Part I in May 2018, too.
