Supergirl is headed from CBS to sister network The CW, and with the transition comes a big addition: an actor to portray Superman.

The show’s executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg, has issued a statement confirming the casting of the Man of Steel for the show, along with executive producers Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler. “Greg, Ali and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl,” Kreisberg said. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”

According to Variety, Superman is often mentioned during Season 1 of Supergirl and pops up from afar, but never actually appears in a close-up. The titular heroine of the show, Kara Zor-El (played by Melissa Benoist), is Superman’s cousin.

Henry Cavill just played the superhero in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Interestingly, Arrow star Willa Holland recently called out DC for nixing the Suicide Squad characters from the show, most likely because of the upcoming Suicide Squad film.
