Blink-182's upcoming album, California, which features Tom DeLonge's replacement Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba, will be released on Friday, and as we inch closer to the release, we're getting more details. Check out EVERYTHING we know right here.
On Wednesday, drummer Travis Barker revealed that his 10-year-old daughter Alabama will be making an appearance on the album. In interview with People, he talked about how his kids have influenced his work and slipped that Alabama will feature on a song called "She's Out of Her Mind."
"We were still figuring out parts, and Alabama walks over to the piano and says, 'I have an idea,' and she starts playing this idea that ended up becoming the bridge part of the piano; it was very organic," Barker told People. "I was so proud of her."
Barker talked about how his kids have affected him in irreversible ways. After surviving a deadly plane crash in 2008, he tried his best to recover for his children, and after suffering from drug addiction, knowing he had children depending on him pushed him to be better. They've inspired songs for California, too:
"There's a song called 'Growing Apart.' For me, it was about our kids. You raise them, and you're so close to them: They're your everything, but you know they're going to grow up and move on ... To take their whole life as your own is the most beautiful thing in the world, and at the same time it's a really sad thing, too.
"I just want to spend as much time with them as I can. There are girls chasing my son and boys chasing my daughter – I told them if things get out of hand, we're moving far, far away. We'll have our own island somewhere."
